All three are GLP-1 medications that work by mimicking a natural hormone in your body to regulate appetite and food intake.
Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is injected weekly and targets two hormone pathways (GLP-1 and GIP) — and could help you lose up to 22% of your body weight. Wegovy (semaglutide) is also injected weekly, but targets a single hormone pathway (GLP-1) and could help you lose up to 20%. Saxenda (liraglutide) is injected daily and could help you lose up to 10%.
Individual results vary and depend on how well you stick to your treatment plan and make lifestyle changes alongside it.
Adults 18+ with a BMI of ≥ 27.5 (or ≥ 23 with certain health risks). Doctor confirmation is required.
Gradual dose taper + ongoing nutrition and exercise lowers rebound risk.
Adequate protein intake and resistance exercise helps preserve lean muscle mass.
Common side effects include nausea, diarrhoea, constipation, vomiting, injection site reactions, and low blood sugar. More serious side effects may occur and should be discussed with your doctor.
We're a real clinic with licensed doctors who treat weight loss as a medical issue, not an aesthetic one. You're only prescribed if it's safe for you, and your doctor stays with you throughout—free unlimited follow-ups, ongoing monitoring, real medical oversight.
- Thyroid tumors have been noted in rodent studies with semaglutide and liraglutide (not all GLP-1s necessarily), and should not be used in patients with a personal or family history of MTC or MEN 2.
- Pancreatitis has been reported in patients taking GLP-1s. Treatment should be discontinued if pancreatitis is suspected.
- GLP-1s may cause hypoglycemia in patients with type 2 diabetes on anti-diabetic therapy.
- Personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC).
- Patients with Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2).
- Pregnancy, as weight loss offers no potential benefit during this time and can harm an unborn baby.
- Allergic reactions to semaglutide (Wegovy), liraglutide (Victoza), tirzepatide (Mounjaro) or any other components of these medications.
